A Buckhead store famous for its annual run-and-grab bridal dress sale became the scene of the latest smash-and-grab burglary early Tuesday.
But the burglars were after men’s clothing, not gowns.

Burglars smashed out a front door about 3 a.m. at Filene’s Basement on Peachtree Road, making off with assorted men?s clothes.
The thieves smashed out a front door about 2:15 a.m. at Filene’s Basement on Peachtree Road, making off with an estimated $15,000 worth of designer men’s clothes.
They used a brick to shatter the door and dropped armloads of clothing while fleeing, authorities said.
Atlanta police spokesman Otis Redmond described the suspects only as four males.
A rash of similar burglaries last year plagued owners of high-end clothing boutiques across metro Atlanta, as so-called “blue jean bandits” targeted designer jeans and other items.
Atlanta police made at least 21 arrests in more than two dozen cases. Burglars hit stores in the Buckhead, Virginia-Highland, Little Five Points and Castleberry Hill areas of Atlanta, as well as in Decatur and Dawsonville, sometimes making off with as much as $30,000 in merchandise.
Filene’s Basement is well-known for its annual “Running of the Brides” event, where thousands of shoppers line up in the predawn darkness to grab bargain wedding dresses for up to 90 percent off the retail price. This year’s sale is scheduled for March 20.
