MARTA bus routes adjusted

Starting Saturday, schedules will change on 14 MARTA routes, including those for the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, Ponce de Leon Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the mass transit agency.

During weekday rush hour, the wait between buses for the aquarium/zoo route will go from 30 minutes to 40 minutes.

On Route 189, the route will extend beyond Pleasant Hill Road to Jonesboro Road and Union Station, said Johnny Dunning, MARTA’s senior director of transit system planning. It will maintain about the same time schedule.

Dunning said the changes were part of routine adjustments that are made three times a year and were unrelated to budget trimming or the holidays.

“These are just efficiencies,” he said.
