Monday, December 01, 2008

ATLANTA — Organizers of the city’s planned civil and human rights museum are planning 10 days of recognition to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The declaration was drafted by the United Nations in response to the Holocaust and is regarded as the international foundation for the modern human rights movements. Cultural, religious and educational institutions will host programs at The Carter Center, Emory University, Spelman College and other locations around the city in tribute to the occasion.
