Two pounds of marijuana among debris in Atlanta crash

Car crashes litter streets with debris — broken headlights, fenders and hubcaps.
Last month, Atlanta police found an unusual byproduct from an auto accident: three large bundles of marijuana in plastic wrap lying in the street.
The reefer wreck started the night of Sept. 19 when two officers on patrol saw a driver in a Mazda pickup make a right turn without using a turn signal, the police report said.
As police chased, the pickup driver ran a red light, sped past two other officers conducting a traffic stop and finally wrecked at Cleveland Avenue and Fairlane Drive in southeast Atlanta.
Police said the driver, Rodney Price, 22, of Atlanta ran but was captured by officers, who filed several drug and traffic charges against him.
Police said that the street was littered with debris — plus 2.4 pounds of marijuana. Officers reported finding more drugs — nearly 4 grams of crack cocaine Price reportedly ditched as he ran.
