Everybody knows the saying that there’s no use crying over spilled milk.
But what about fighting over spoiled milk?
Last week, a southwest Atlanta grocery store owner and a customer got arrested after a confrontatiion turned physical when the woman tried to get a refund for spoiled milk, according to an Atlanta police report.
Atlanta police were called to the store, Three Way Grocery, at 1695 Pryor Road, at 9:51 a.m. on Aug. 14, the report said.
Owner Jeong Sun Sim told police that the woman, Wilhemina Cox, came into the store and asked for a refund for a half-gallon of milk she bought the day before, the report said.
Sim, 48, refused, saying that he doesn’t give refunds for items purchased the previous day.
Cox, 48, became upset, opened the container and poured milk onto the floor, Sim told police.
Cox admitted to pouring milk on the floor, but told police that Sim then pushed her out the store, causing her to fall to the ground, the report said.
After she fell, another woman, Jung Lee, 38, came outside and poured more of the spoiled milk on Cox, the report said.
The women started fighting, but after Lee went back inside, Cox threw a brick through the windshield of Lee’s car, Cox reported. Lee came outside again, this time armed with an electric prod, shocking Cox in the arm, the report said.
Both Cox and Sim were arrested on charges of battery, damage to property and disorderly conduct, according to the report.
Lee was not immediately arrested because she was injured from giving birth to a premature baby a month ago, the report said.
