Weekend construction will close some Downtown Connector ramps

If you're among the 100,000 people heading to the home furnishings expo in downtown Atlanta this weekend, better invest in a map. Or a MARTA Breeze card. Especially if you live south of the city.
Four northbound ramps of the Downtown Connector (I-75/85) will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday as repaving resumes.

Combined with the anticipated crowd at the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishing Market at AmericasMart, weekend traffic will be heavier than usual, the Georgia Department of Transportation warns.
This weekend the lane closures are northbound. Three outside lanes of I-75/I-85 are slated to close from Fair Drive to I-20. Northbound ramps along those lane closures will close too:
— University Avenue off-ramp. This ramp will re-open by 10 a.m. Sunday to allow access to Turner Field for a 4 p.m. Kenny Chesney concert there.
— University Avenue on-ramp
— Capitol Avenue off-ramp
— Fulton Street/Central Avenue off-ramp
The on-ramp to I-20 both east and west will be open but narrowed to one lane. The closures are allowed from 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Monday. The work is supposed to be done by the end of November.
