A one-year-old Atlanta boy survived a 20-foot fall from his family's second-story apartment after slipping through a bedroom window, according to Atlanta police.

It might have helped that the boy, Daymond Alridge, landed on grass instead of pavement.

His father, Daniel Robinson Jr., heard Daymond hit the ground, scooped him up and drove him to the hospital, ignoring red lights along the way.

A police investigator spotted Robinson driving erratically and tried to pull him over, but the panicked father ignored the officer, too, according to an Atlanta police report.

Daymond ended up at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and had no visible injuries, according to the report filed May 6, the day the incident occurred.

It was not clear Monday whether Daymond had been released from the hospital.

The investigation revealed that Daymond's grandmother, Barbara Colzie, was watching him when he pushed out a window screen and fell out, the report said.
