Southbound Interstate 75 has reopened.

David Spear, a spokesman for the Georgia Department of Transportation, said the expressway is not likely to be back to normal, however, until the evening rush hour.

"I'd try to stay off of 75 this morning," he said.

He said police investigating the fatal tour bus crash had completed their work by about 10:15 a.m. and the bus had been put on a flatbed wrecker for removal.

Even with the freeway reopened, officials were still advising travelers to take alternate routes:

• Take I-285 westbound to I-20 eastbound.

• Take I-285 westbound to the Lakewood Freeway eastbound.

• Take I-285 eastbound to Ga. 400 southbound.
