Norfolk blanks Gwinnett Braves 5-0

Norfolk pitcher Chris Tillman scattered four hits as the Tides defeated Gwinnett 5-0 on Friday night.

The visiting G-Braves never got more than a hit in any inning and only twice put two men on in an inning (the second and the eighth). They had one double and three singles, and no batter had more than one hit.

Norfolk’s Jolbert Cabrera had three RBIs, two coming off a triple in the seventh.

The Tides scored three runs in the first inning off G-Braves starter Tony Armas, who allowed seven hits and three earned run in six innings. He also walked one and struck out one.

Tillman lasted 7-2/3 innings and allowed four hits but no runs. He struck out seven and walked one.
