Sorry to go off topic for a sec, but I didn’t have an opportunity to comment on yesterday’s topic. I have had many relationships with people I’ve worked with at various times and in various workplaces. Some were disastrous, some turned out very well. I married two of them - husbands #2 and #3 (#3 as in “the charm”). Husband #1 was my high school love, so I guess in a way you could say I met him at “work,” also. One thing about developing a relationship with someone you work with or go to school with is that at least you have an opportunity to see them operate in everyday situations before you decide whether you want something more. I think you have to be very careful and give a lot of thought to the potential repercussions, though. Enough said on that - next post will be on today’s topic!

I suggest that you spring clean your cell phone!

Take out (or DNA) the phone number of anyone that has proven to be LAME. This includes lame friends, relatives, and ESPECIALLY romantic interests. If you don’t want to be used as a summer fling, a friend’s personal driver, or a relative’s ATM, spring clean your phone!

Thanks for the welcome!

Now, on today’s topic: One thing I would suggest for people who would like to be in better shape is to set aside time to work out regularly. Frequently I hear people say they don’t have time. That is BS. People can make time for whatever they want. I work full time, take a class every semester (working toward a master’s degree), raise kids, have fun with hubby, and still make time to work out every day. It’s a matter of priorities. Taking care of your own body and mind should be one of your top priorities. When you take care of yourself, then you are better able to take care of others.

Just a little, Mr. C. Thanks for checking on me yesterday w/ that smooth voice (totally soothing). I did get those wings (only ate about 7), no drink cuz I didn’t have any cranberry @ the house and after fighting that horrible traffic I didn’t feel like going back out…….my man did stop by on his way home to give me a massage later on that night though…….it definitely took away some of the tension and it put me to sleep. He tucked me into to bed, set my alarm for me, and left. I woke up around 4am thinking it was no later than midnight and had to smile cuz I was already in the bed and all the lights were turned down, he even took my trash out for me. That was so sweet of him.

On topic: My time of re-evaluating normally happens right before the new year. That’s when I look at where I’ve been, what I’ve learned, and what I want to leave in the old year and take into the new year. Another way to spring clean for me is to change my routine. Go visit a place I’ve never been, go to lunch with someone I wouldn’t normally go to lunch with. The summer is definitely the time I like to be a social butterfly (shout out to MsK!)

Happy Friday! It sounds like you all had a blast last night. One day Ignatius is going to surprise you and drop in on a gathering. Once I get a babysitter brave enough to spend a few hours with mine. They are just two normal rambunctious boys with a sister who knows how to control them, but lately they have been reading Calvin and Hobbes and are coming up with new ideas each and every day. I have been considering sending them to Abu Ghrab prison to let them work off some energy.

Ennyway, on topic, house cleaning is good, but sometimes I think it’s better to put things away where you know where they are rather than toss them. There may be times you need to go back and cull a little knowledge from past experience regardless of whether it is something you ever want to use again or not, good or bad. ;-)

Ok so you have this guy, lets call him…Mark. Mark has been with his girlfriend for about 4 months. He says they are really happy. He thinks she COULD be the one. They have consummated their relationship but she refuses to * ahem * slob the nob (not the best way to put that, but work with me!)

So Mark is spotted at a bar with some random chick and he gets called on it by a friend. His excuse is, he really really likes his girlfriend, but he will pursue intimate relations with “random girls� because there are certain things she doesn’t do.

Now I don’t think it is fair to continue dating someone with whom you are incompatible with sexually. What if they marry? Will he continue to seek other women to fulfill his needs? He thinks its better for him to go elsewhere then make his girl feel bad about not doing certain things. Your thoughts?

@ Carrington…..Yes, doesn’t it. I just took $100 out at lunch. I stopped at the mall to pick a birthday gift for my daughter’s best friend . It was less than $20 and I bought some lunch that was about $6 bucks. I stopped in the Limited Too and bought some candy for them and somehow I’m left w/ about $60. Now that’s $40 worth of nothing.

And another thing, as a woman…..you can’t be giving your man all the freakiness up front. You have to introduce it slowly…..there’s an art to it……I mean even though he doesn’t say it, you can’t be unleashing the bunny on him……take baby steps and I do mean baby steps…really, there’s an art to it and you really have to let him think that he talked you into doing whatever. I know it sounds weird but it’s so true. Not saying at coy or pretend you are shy but don’t unleash all your best tricks immediately…..again, seduction is an art.

Actually, I was asking in general, not so much about it being ALL kinds of freakyness. Everybody has a different idea of what freaky is… which is my very point. If guys want to know now how down with the get down a chick is (freaky)…are they expecting to be taken seriously? I think it would clue me in to the fact that a guy is just wanting to hit.

Ivy, I like how you put that. It should be over time, and I am trying to see if guys have shortened that time span (to a frickin week) since I was last on the dating scene… cuz clearly it is something they seem to check for right away. I am saying..what the hell is the urgency unless you just want a FB?

Diva, IMHO, I think when a guy comes at you like that, you can only think that that’s what he is about…..trynna cut….I mean, what difference does it make how I do what I do or when or where? If me and you are going to do the do then it’s done and if not, then no point in talking about it and getting worked up on what you think I will/might do……I let a man know straight up, either it’s going down or it isn’t…..now if I say it’s a no-go and he still tries to pursue me then oh well to that……but actions speak louder than words and I feel I can show you better than tell you and with that, the conversation is done. Now when a guy is honestly trynna pursue you other than some cut and is interested in getting to know who you are and what you’re about instead of whether or not you can bend into a pretzel then that’s clear immediately, at least for me(now we all know they still want to eventually cut something). Ok, it’s late in the day and I was about to pull out Ivy’s Handbook: Volume 47 hahahahahahha, hopefully that made sense but if not, at least I knew what I was trynna say, hopefully you all got my drift (I was trynna be PG)…..lol!

That makes perfect sense, Ivy thanks. I know a lot of times, guys won’t be upfront about wanting an FB situation. I am upfront too, I have no problem letting them know whatever it is I am wanting…whether that be a FB set up or something more meaningful. I just got a REAL problem with a dude PRETENDING he wants something meaningful when he truly is out for booty on duty. That is a GREAT perk of abstaining, you sure weed out those stick and move dudes.
