Fried Coke? C’mon…

Here’s a killer for the taste buds: fried Coke.

Adventurous eaters can taste the real thing this weekend at the Georgia Renaissance Festival, according to accessAtlanta reporter John Kessler, who writes about the crispy treat (click here for the story).

Kessler writes fried Coke won a “Creativity Award” at the Texas State Fair. Thanks, Texas.

The recipe includes Coca-Cola infused batter, cola syrup, whipped cream and more.

Just thinking about it brings to mind another oddity: fried candy bars. Not necessarily stomach turners, just different.

Does the thought of fried Coke tickle your taste buds? What other weird foods have you eaten?

If I read correctly, it sounds like Coke laced funnel cake…I’ll be sure to try it but doesn’t sound too spectacular to me.

Fried candy bars, however sound incredible. I love fried ice cream.

I never thought I’d have enjoyed eating “bait” but that raw fish stuff is pretty good. (no I’m not really that big of a redneck, but I do come from a long line of them and I’m proud of it.)

I hesitate to say I’d never try something new, but honestly, that doesn’t sound very appetizing to me.

I mean both the fried Coke and the fried candy bars.

I ate goat at Kelly’s Jerk in Athens! I thought it would be one hunk of meat, but it was in little bits. Different, but good! It was curried and Jamaican, so I liked the super spicy flavor. Read here to read about my experience!

that little odity is estimated to have 850 callories according to Wikipeida. My family has been in GA since 1730, Fried food runs in my blood, but this is too much. No wonder America consists of a bunch of bovine entitlement program recipients.

My wife tells me that EVERY kind of soda here in the South is Coke. If she wants a Mt Dew, she’ll say, “I want a Coke.” Then when I bring her a Coke, she gets mad. “Why didnt you bring me that Mountain Dew.”

“You said you wanted a Coke, so I brought you a Coke.”

“I obviously meant I wanted a Mt. Dew.”

“I was suppose to know this because..??”

“Because youre from the South, oh wait, I forgot, youre from Texas, that isn’t the South.”

“Yes it is.”

“NO its not.”

“Texas is more south than Atlanta, my dear.”

And we go on, and on, and on.

Actually, she meant that everyone in ATLANTA calls a soda a Coke, not the South.
