Who’s got the best chocolates in town?

Valentine’s Day is coming up. If you’re buying chocolates this year, where do you plan to go?

Is there a local chocolatier you’d recommend? Several small shops turn out good chocolates here; we’d love to hear what your favorites are.

If you can afford it, Teuscher is about a good as you can get. It’s not a gimmic, this is the real deal Swiss chocolate. I’m just about positive that they’ll be stocking up for Valentine’s Day.

Okay, so they’re not a local chocolatier, but Vosges has items available both at Star Provisions and Whole Foods, and may also be available at Neiman-Marcus.

Innovative flavor combinations and smart packaging make them a natural for V-Day.

Pearl Girl, I’ll have to try Buttersweet…thanks for the tip!

The Chocolate Bar in downtown Decatur is fabulous. They have homemade chocolates as well as high-end chocolates from a few other chocolatiers. It’s a fun place for drinks and dessert, too!

I am a choco-fiend. Maison Robert in Chamblee is the best. Give this to someone special and they will be hooked also. He makes the heart shaped boxes out of chocolate w truffles inside. Rum Fondant & Cognac Truffles are my faves.

I just love Lindt/Lindor Truffles, but there are probably those who say they’re nothing special. But then I don’t have the most discriminating palate and I don’t have an appreciation for the finer things in life, I guess. I’m not a big fan of Godiva chocolates and I notice no one’s mentioned them. I’ve had Sees, but have never had Maison Robert altho has passed by it several times. Anyway, I hope everyone’s chocolate wishes come true for V’Day.

I agree with The Don — Maison Robert is the best! True artistry…I especially enjoy the marzipan, but can’t pass up the hazelnut būchette, either.

Without question, Maison Robert. Genuine old school stuff here with some nouveau twists. I have sampled the wares of some other local chocolatiers, and they don’t come close. It’s a delight simply to walk into Robert’s shop and inhale the chocolate yummyness, and to see him diligently at work creating those tasty chocolates.

Peterbrook in Buford has the BEST chocolate to date in that area. New store opened opposite Mall of Georgia. Check it out! All chocolate made on premises! (Get the hint hon?)Nudge Nudge!

Hands down The Chocolate Pink Pastry Cafe is the best chocolate in town! The chef at the Ritz Carlton makes all the special chocolate but everything made in house is just as yummy! Service is great too if you are looking to stay and dine in!

The girl I am dating LOVES the chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva. I have to admit…they are pretty good!
