Will You Dine at Home For Christmas?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Have you ever eaten out for Christmas dinner? Did you end up eating Chinese like the Parker family in “A Christmas Story?” Were you out of town and had nowhere else to go? Did the chestnuts roasting on your open fire explode and set fire to the house? Were you marooned in an airport somewhere, singing Christmas carols over the phone to your loved ones? Did you have to work? Perhaps you went on an Austrian ski vacation? A cruise?
What’s your most memorable Christmas dinner in a restaurant?

My family is interested in breaking tradition and dining out for Christmas. Does anyone have any recommendations?

laughing Yes, once. A few years ago, all of the cooks in my family decided a revolt would be in order so they refused to cook.
And, being from a small town in south Georgia, the options are limited as to what or where you can dine out on a holiday.
The result? Grandma decided upon the Dairy Queen. So here we all sit - happy as pigs in the mud (and feeling so much so after) at the DQ for Christmas lunch.
It was different. It was unique. It’s a story that gets passed down to new family members and grandkids.
