Soup IS Good Food
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A friend came down with his version of the season’s first cold last week, so I made a big pot of chicken soup (with turkey stock) and rushed it over to his house as a remedy.
Now, of course, I’m coming down with the same symptoms. I can make a pot of soup for myself, but what if — like my friend — you just don’t cook? Where do you go for a great bowl of heart-warming, soul-replenishing soup? Souper Jenny? Loaf n Kettle? Korean tofu soup? Where do you head to get rid of your head cold?

When I lived in Miami it was usually chicken noodle at the nearest Denny’s or at Rascal house and Wolfie’s which were my two favorite deli’s. In N.Y. we had a deli or a diner at every block or two and in Atlanta I have the korean and vietnamese noodle shops WHAT THE PHO is ok most of them are pretty decent as far as taste.

I think any of the Pho #(insertnumberhere) on Buford are OK for soup. Never been disappointed.
You can’t beat Mama’s hamhock and vegetable soup, though. Tomatoey, all sorts of veggies and a couple ham hocks … mmmm … one of the first of her recipes I learned to make!
