The secret to ANY soup’s great taste is the amount of MSG they put in it - and virtually ALL soups have it! Educate yourself about MSG at www.msgtruth.org

Hands down, the best soup in all of Atlanta is Carrabba’s Sicilian Chicken Soup. However, the best soup in the world is in Vancouver, BC at a restaurant called Burgoo. I’d move there just for the soup.

Whold Foods or Fresh Market. Atlanta Bread Company Chicken Tortilla, French Onion, or Broccoli Cheddar. Boston Market chicken noodle. Kani House or Sho Gun for Miso. Olive Garden too! Try Progresso’s new light soups w/ 0 Weight Watchers points. They’re very yummy, and the Southwestern Style Vegetable is great!

Memo to “in the news”- Your political soup is sour and tiresome. Go find a batch of CNN and add a dash of tobasco. Take your sour grapes elsewhere and don’t drink so early in the day.

I just had Wolfgang Puck’s butternut squash soup last night at their Brookwood Puck’s Express location on Peachtree, and was completely delighted with their unusual soup offering. It was all one could want in a soup, thick, warm, seasonal— and scrumptious. I wondered what it might take to negotiate the purchase of a gallon container-full and serve it for Thanksgiving dinner. Like Puck’s neighbor Ahnald says, “I’ll be back!!”

Don’t forget about pho, the Vietnamese beef noodle soup served at several great restaurants on Buford Highway. It warms you down to your bones and is the perfect food when you have a cold and nothing else sounds good.

Oh my GOD I had this just yesterday. The Corn/Shrimp chowder at Taqueria Del Sol on Howell Mill. I get there right when they open at 11am and get about 10 bowls of chowder to take back to my office.

It’s creamy….. warm…spicy…chunky…smooth. It’s better than SEX!!!!!!

Every soup I’ve had at Seasons 52 has been delicious except for their weirdly seasoned white bean soup. Don’t get that. All the rest are superb. Manhattan Clam Chowder is new for this week and it’s really good.

Goldberg’s Bagel Co. & Deli. Hands-down this is the BEST chicken noodle soup you’ll ever eat! I live in NYC now… but I always stop in their W. Paces Ferry store when I visit. This soup is so good it will make you wish for a sick day!

The yummiest soup in town is the shrimp corn chowder at Los Hermanos in Tucker. I have had the SCChowder at Taqueria del Sol and it has nothing on Los Hermanos. They also have a delicious Chicken Tortilla soup.

When the weather turns cold I seek great soup. The best I’ve had is at FAB. The creamy onion is rich and flavorful with a silky texture. And the white bean soup drizzled with truffle oil is one of the best soups I’ve had in the city.

I second the notion of pho as the perfect soup for a cold day like today. Go to Pho Hoa on Buford Highway for a big, steaming bowl of pho ga (chicken soup) or pho with beef — it’ll make your day!!

Broadway Cafe on Briarcliff has the awesome veggie soup. Bagel Place in Toco Hills has amazing matzo ball chicken noodle soup - pure medicine, will fix anything that ails you and is darn good. But by far the bestest best soup in Atlanta is Taqueria Del Sol’s Shrimp Corn Chowder.

To Atlanta Pearl Girl. I love soup, however, if you think any soup is better than sex, you ain’t getting your sex from the right people. Like the soup, Shop around. If the Good Lord made anything better than sex, He saved it for Himself. I do agree that good soup is good. It’s good for you also, and won’t get you in near as much trouble as with the sex. Nobody ever paid child support for soup.

The chicken and artichoke soup that TGI Friday’s used to make in house about 15 years ago…..I don’t think they even offer it anymore. People who hated artichokes loved that soup……

Hey AJC…..any chance you can get some of these soup recipes (including the one I mentioned) from above in a future feature?
