It’s Fall, and I’m longing for a great piece of apple pie. Alon’s is usually cranking them out this time of year, and I love this Morningside bakery’s way of piling the apples high in the center, then covering them with a buttery mantle of crust before baking.
What bakery makes your favorite apple pie? Are traditional desserts such as pies and cakes getting harder to find at area bakeries?

Actually, I’m betting the apple pies Pie-Maker Ned on Pushing Daisies makes are fantastic! With gruyere cheese baked into the crust! Mmmm …
But really, Alon’s has some great pies.

I cant even tell you how good my mom’s apple pie is. That’s because whenever she saw me, she threw it at me. I would duck and it would hit my dad, who was hiding behind me. You see, kind people, my mother is mean. Once, when I was only five, she bought me a snorkle and threw a nickel in the reservoir. She’s really mean, and old. She once made pineapple upside down cake and made me stand on my head to eat it. Oh, she’s cruel. Once she burned toast just to increase her carbon footprint. Stay clear of my mom, good folks.

My wife makes the best apple pie, it takes her about 15 minutes, and then while its still hot throw on some vanilla ice cream, it’s the berries. My son had some the first time recently and the entire pie was gone in a day. HMMMMMMM that’s good eat’n Aunt Bee

The Best Apple Pie is from Greenwood’s in Roswell Big chunks of apples and a crust that is to die for.
