Why Did It Close?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Ever had a favorite spot — usually the nabe right around the corner — close the doors and roll down the window shades on you?
Carey Blalock, a reader in Canton, emailed to ask about a restaurant she and her husband frequented in Alpharetta, the Roasted Garlic. They made the drive only to find that it had closed. The restaurant’s phone number has been disconnected as well. Anyone know what happened to this spot?
What restaurant closing has you scratching your head and wondering why? Is there a place you used to call a favorite that you wish would come back?

I still miss Gringo’s on Dekalb Ave. Their Budins were the best!

Teaspace - that was the best restaurant Little Five Points ever had. I miss both the food, which was equally complex and healthy, and the charming space. I was really sad when that spot closed and I haven’t found anything that really replaces the experience of eating there.

The Desert Place (as someone in another blog mentioned)
….and Rockford’s - a neighborhood joint in Gwinnett that always seemed busy till the day we went and found the doors locked and no forwarding phone. Makes you go hmmmmmm…

Burrito Art. I hate that I cannot get the Asian Meatloaf Burrito anymore. Anyone have the recipe for it (must include the red sauce on top!) I am sure that they closed due to the competition from the chain gang(Moe’s, Willy’s etc.)
Dessert Place was fun-my biggest disappointment in VA-Hi was when they closed the ice cream place next door to open a cigar shop-now that was a bad trade. I miss Pad Thai too. Loved their Masaman Chicken.
