The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Part of each Dine Guide — Spring and Fall — is the inclusion of a list of neighborhood favorites (we call them NABES) we want to bring to your neighborhood’s attention.
Who did we miss? Whether it’s Cabbage Town or Cobb, what’s your favorite neighborhood restaurant?

Loafing Leprechaun (Windward)had all the ear marks of being a local fav….until the service slid so far downhill I am not sure how they will pick up.
The Wild Wing Cafe (Windward) is always packed with the afterwork crowd.
Tara Humata was rocking on Saturday night. Full Tequila Bar.

The Corner Deli in “downtown” Alpharetta is great for breakfast or lunch. A no frills place, family run. Good food but don’t be in a hurry. Awesome chicken salad melt. Dog friendly patio dining.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any good neighborhood restaurants around Brookwood where we currently live. R. Thomas comes the closest, but it’s a wee bit overly expensive for food of such average quality and the parking lot is a gruesome mess.
But I’m happy to drive to other neighborhoods - Eclipse di Sol in Poncey Highland is a very relaxed place and great for hanging out and enjoying consistently good food. And Grant Park has two great ones across the street from each other with Dakota Blue and Grant Central.

The River bar and grill on Lake Alatoona. Fine food, good fun, on the water, great karaoke on Fridays and the location is convenient and accessible by car or by boat. It may take a while to get the food, but it is worth it.

Oh my Capt,Are you one of the zealots (Lemmings)that believe every lie that falls out of Bush’s mouth? It is people just like you that allow him to continue with his murdering of innocent people in the war he is fighting for his daddy. And I’m sure it is you, or your type that would want to spend time in anyones “oral office”.

ALEXIS, by stooping to such an immature act of name calling and political posturing, you put yourself in a class lower than the posters you were calling out earlier.

I second the Brake Pad and Manchester Arms in College Park. Both get huge points for atmosphere. Also Oz Pizza in downtown East Point.

Tsk Tsk Tsk Alexis….such venom. Whats the matter doll….can’t take it as well as you dish it out? Concerning your previous comment to Lisa E…it may be hers or it may be her fathers…but at least it is theirs it that is the case…what do you have to show for your pathetic life other than the ability to harp on people that actually accompolish something. Go on back to bed with Rosie and Babs and keep trying to find new and inventive ways to give away other peoples money to the undeserving. Last chance….generate some more venom….come on now you can do it….roll through the Dems speaking points and sound bites and let em fly.

Best kept secret in Atlanta is Carvers Grocery on West Marietta Street. Only open for lunch, lines form at 11:00 AM and wrap around the corner. It still amazes me during the winters people still line up.
If you get there after 1:30 you are probably out of luck. Best atmosphere I have every seen. You could be sitting next to Bubba and his other brother Bubba or you can be sitting next to a Coke Executive.
Best place in Atlants HAND DOWN END OF STORY.

Alexis/Capt, I just happened upon this forum because the subject matter captured my attention. I opened the forum, read your comments and was appalled. First, it’s obvious that neither of you have productive or fulfilling lives or you wouldn’t have spent a better of your afternoon bantering back and forth in pointless, immature and mean-spirited conversation. Please do us all a favor and GET A LIFE!!!! This is not the place to vent or express your political views which brings me to the next point…..”you have no earthly idea what’s going.”
Your points sound like something you’ve heard from the likes of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. PLEASE TAKE YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS AND OPINIONS TO THE PROPER FORUM, because this isn’t the place. Last, a word from wise…..it’s one thing to be perceived as a fool, but it’s altogether another matter when you open your mouth and remove all doubt.
