All Island Cafe at 4761 Memorial Drive (404.292.0106) is the best caribbean food I’ve come across in Atlanta and I’ve tried a LOT of caribbean restaurants. My personal faves are the jerk chicken, the curry chicken and the stew peas.
If you give this place a chance, I promise that you will be back. I know it comes down to personal taste, but Kool Runnings is barely edible.

Island Cafe on Memorial Dr. is the best. The jerk chicken, the oxtails, rice & peas, etc. are the bomb! And, they give you a lot of food. For lunch, if you are in the downtown area or not near Memorial Dr., Calypso Cafe on Walton St. is pretty good.

Jamaican: Kool Runnings on Memorial just outside of I285. Most Jamaican blogs list this as one of the top if not top places.
Trinidadian: The Roti Place on Rockbridge Road.
Cuban: Las Palmeras in Midtown.

The Roti Place on Rockbridge Road is not good in my opinion, rice stuck together like glue peas not a good consistency. And too little oxtails were served. The best oxtails in my opinion: kool runnings with All Island Cafe on memorial hot on their tail

If you’re into Haitian food, check out Bon Acceuil on Hwy 85 in Riverdale. Their legumes and lalo are slammin’! It’s a cool place to hang out on the weekends since there’s a DJ and a dance floor.

Toronto, London, Kingston, and Miami also have excellent food. But as more and more West Indians move to Atlanta, (from home countries and New York), comparisons to New York will stop. Many of us can remember when Taste of Caribbean in West End was the only Jamaican food place most could name.

Royal Caribbean on Memorial Drive @ Rockbridge has the best rice & peas, patties and jerk chicken. It gets crowded Saturday evenings and you have to get there early for the sliced hard dough bread for Sunday breakfast. Everything there is da bomb and my kids love their jerk seasoned veggies. Big up!
