My favorite place for fresh baked goods is at Food To Go in Clarkston. Conveniently locate off of Hwy 78. They have muffins, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, cookies, too much to mention everything. The best part is, when I don’t have time to bake for school functions, I can run by and pick up fresh cupcakes. They look and taste like home made, unlike the grocery. They also have a full menu of yummy food.

I like Daisy’s Desserts - the best carrot cake(no raisins) & key lime cake in the South and maybe in the Nation. www.daisysdesserts.com

To our own neighborhood bake sale at Farmington in Vinings. Held several times a summer by a neighborhood athlete raising money for athletic travel trips, you won’t find a better brownie, blondie, cookie of any flavor - especially chocolate-mocha, Derby pie, banana bread, coffee cake, hot fudge sauce, and lavender lemonade - a very talented baker and athlete!

You’ve got to try Blue Rooster on Main Street in Lilburn. The best baked desserts around.

I love Metrotainment in Atlanta. The best coconut cake. I hated coconut cake until this one. Awesome people. www.metrobakery.com.
Piece A Cake comes in second, but rates low on customer service.

Metrotainment! Best tasting and best looking cake you will put in your mouth. I second the White Choc Mousse one! Have had others and they are so good. Will have to try the pies at Thanksgiving.

I second Alon’s and Southern Sweets. DeKalb Farmer’s Market also has a nice selection.

Southern Sweets has great looking cakes, but I found them to be lacking in taste and texture.

Sorry to be so negative, but I don’t believe there is a decent commercial bakery in Atlanta. The best cakes I’ve tasted are from individuals who keep their recipes their secret and bake from the heart, not the pocketbook. By the way, I make a New York Style crumbcake that is to die for! Keep a look out. When Brooklyn Girl opens her bakery, there will be lines around the block!

I love “Piece of Cake” has fantastic Caramel Cake. Totally yummy. I still haven’t checked out Alon’s, but have heard nothing but excellent raves about it. Definitely on my “to try” list.

Brooklyn girl, why don’t you open a bakery ASAP - in Brooklyn? Of course, yankees don’t like anything about the South; we killed 300,000 of them during the War of Northern Aggression. Yep, 300,000 Yankees is stiff in Southern dust — we got 300,00 before they conquered us. They died of Southern fever, and Southern steel & shot. And I wish it was 3 million instead of what we got.

Easy! The International Bakery on Cheshire Bridge Road, nextdoor to the new Taqueria del Sol - across from Taverna Plaka.
Owned by friendly Greeks who sell everything from Baklava ($.85) to cheesecakes to wedding cakes…you can pick up a tray of sweets for your party, too. The prices are amazing!
I just picked up a cake for my kid’s bday party. Every year, I get one at Publix and then decorate it. This year, I gave them the business. It’s much tastier, better looking, and even $7 cheaper than Publix!!!
GREAT prices. The feta pie is to die for. AND it’s not just sweets - you can find things like pastitsio noodles - anything you need for pasta, too.
CHEAP and a million times better than any other place! Even Alon’s is way too big now, and it’s sooo pricey. Walk in here, and you’ll always find a 3-person family behind the counter greeting you.
