Eat local food movement

Interest in locally grown food is booming.

Armed with studies estimating food travels an average of 1,500 miles between farm and plate, shoppers who once chose organic are now taking a harder look at where that food came from.

Is it better to buy organic produce from large, industrial-scale farms in California, or to support local farmers regardless of whether food is organic, sustainable or conventionally grown?
