Kaiten Confusion
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Restaurants fall victim to sensory overloaded concepts all the time. The latest of these brain-numbing concepts to hit Atlanta is Fune Sushi Bar and Ultra Lounge. The use of the word “ultra” should probably be verboten in conjunction with anything other than Spandex, but “ultra” Fune is. (Fune means “boat” in Japanese, btw). Fune capitalizes on the idea of Japanese kaiten sushi, which involves items revolving on a conveyor belt in front of diners who snatch up their choices and then are charged at meal’s end for the number of color-coded plates they’ve stacked. What’s your kaiten sushi experience?
