Looking for some Grand Old Parties
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Listen up Republicans: I need to hear from you.
A few days ago we posted a blog entry asking folks about their Election Night party plans. We heard from several party people planning non-partisan events, and a few Democratic-leaning events (including one called the “Barack Obama Victory Party).
Any McCain-Palin supporters out there with party plans? Or how about a party for Libertarian candidate Bob Barr?
I want to make sure our list of Election Night parties is fair and balanced, so help me out here.

The GOP won’t have much to party about next week. This should pretty obvious unless you’ve been spending the last 12 months in Alaska (news publications are so scarce up there, even the governor doesn’t get to read them).

Suggested locations for GOP parties on Nov4: - libraries - monastaries - ghost towns - Jim Wooten’s blog - any other location will be utterly shell-shocked (for complete coverage, be sure to tune into FoxNews around 9pm on Nov4)

Thank-you Bush. Because you were and are the most ineffective president we’ve experienced since Jimmy Carter you have handed this election over to a man that, in all other times, would be a laughing joke in the world of poliitcs. Bush, the Obama presidency will be all about how we hate you, not about the faith we have in Obama to lead this country. Bush, hang your head in shame and go away. Go far, far away. To Cheney, just drop dead why don’t you. Because of Bush I will have to live through four years of pure socialistic hell with the idiot Obama at the helm all because of a bigger idiot, Bush.

Unfortunately, DISGUSTED’s come off as disgusting. Mr. Obama has more talent in his little finger than Mr. McCain (I did respect the original but the party animal he has become is a mess) and Mr. Bush combined. Mr. Obama understands what our country needs and the other two don’t.
“Pure socialistic hell”. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Get a life you silly thing!

Fair and balanced? Why start now!?
The AJC has already lost its unbiased credibility, obviously bankrupt of all ethical journalistic standards. Destine to become little more than a state run media outlet under Obama or just plain bankrupt under McCain.
But hey…, partying on dude.

We should all celebrate the end of the reign of the worst president in US history George Bush. The First imperial president who single handily wanted to make the other branches of the government subservient to the imperial executive. He single handily increased our debt from $5 trillion to supposedly $10 trillion when it may be even $20 trillion when we get the bill. Time to break apart the Republican party they need to start all over and get back to their roots. They have nothing to celebrate they need a good slap in the face this election for the last 8 years. the party is over and all I have is a hangover from it.

You left wing socialist types are too tight and don’t know how to have a good time. If you aren’t trying to collar some law-abiding conservative so that you can call her a Nazi, you just aren’t happy.
I’ll be holding an election night party that featuring two of my favorite Charlton Heston films: The Ten Commandments followed by Planet of the Apes.
Oh, and only on ajc.com would a “Barack Obama Victory Party” be termed “Democratic-leaning”.

Actually planning on attending a shindig that night; should be a low-key thing.
The extremes of emotion in this campaign don’t surprise me, unfortunately. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that America is NOT going to become a socialist nation under Obama. He will NOT take our guns away, people (yes, I own and carry several). He will not force anyone to marry people of the same sex, wil NOT abolish Xtianity, and will not balance the budget or end the economic crisis in the first 100 days.
Get over yourselves. Really. All this negativity against him really shows the Republicans’ true colors. It’s immature, and it’s all they have. That’s sad.
I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I’ve heard McCain supporters say what McCain is going to do, and how we will be better with him after Bush. If he’ so great, why not tout that?
As for McCain, I don’t think he is a bad man, and do not believe he will bring the country to ruin. I have no confidence in Palin, and I think she should not be anywhere near the Oval Office, but if they are elected, I will just have to hope McCain stays healthy.
This is not a time to panic. Mature people understand that our country needs some help, and the president cannot rescue this country. Whoever is elected will do his best to serve us. I do believe that.
Extremism in any form is what will destroy us. Grow up and give the other side a LITTLE BIT of credit before mouthing off on how horrible it will be if “your guy” loses.
Bush will soon be gone. Rejoice in that, if nothing else.

Bush is not as bad as Carter, but he is bad. He didn’t do as much damage to our economy as the Democrats in Congress. The economy was doing just fine until the Dems took over Congress. And the Republicans never had the strength of numbers that the Democrats already have. Clinton signed the legislation that allowed AIG and others to gamble on bad loans. But with a VAST LEFT WING CONSPIRACY that includes just about all of the media but Fox News and talk radio most Americans are blaming the President for the actions of others. That’s not to say that Bush didn’t make some mistakes, but he couldn’t have corrected the main problems because we would never have gotten them through Congress in the last two years.
Also, Thank goodness that he has protected from outside invasion. that being said, I wouldn’t vote for Bush again because he has failed to protect the borders. I believe McCain would be better in that regard. There is no telling what Obama and his cronies will do. His “community organization” - Acorn - has already proven been trusted that they can’t be trusted
That being said, I like most people, have to work the next day so I will not celebrate even if the American people come to their senses. I will have at least 4 years to mourn the passing of America as we know it.

party for what— We are getting our first social/ communist president. I guess we all will be working for the Commune. Why can’t I keep my money work for instead of it being stolen by a Washington Politicain so he can spend it programs he sees fit to keep getting himslef elected.
Thanks George Bush for your incompatance and failure!! Thanks for sticking us with Obama

Geez. Again…why are people so immature? America as we know it is already in crisis. If you want to mourn it, now is the time. But instead of whining and wringing your hands about how socialist/black/inexperienced Obama is, why don’t you—and everyone else—work for a better America?
An Obama presidency is not going to destroy this nation. Neither is a McCain one (again, as long as he stays healthy)!
I will be glad when this election is over. No matter who wins.

Bob, Bush was FAR worse than Carter, because you mouthbreathers voted him in for a second term. He wasted trillions of dollars on a war that wasn’t necessary (contrary to popular belief, Saddam did not intend to bomb your trailer park). The economy is in a shambles, just like when daddy Bush was at the reigns.
And you think a doddering 73 year-old and an Alaskan seperatist dolt would help matters?!
And speaking of McCain, I wouldn’t expect much from Mr. “I couldn’t agree with him more” in the way of “protecting our borders”. Guess you forgot that he teamed up with Kennedy in a desperate attempt to legislate amnesty. You know, Republicans LOVE that cheap, under-the-table slave labor.
And Sam, Communist? Socialist? They ran the same propaganda campaign against Franklin D. Roosevelt. Thank god, then as now, that most people are too smart to buy the B.S. that you’ve been shoveled.

Bob, get your “facts” from some where other than Rush or Neal.
Hey Labito, the President sent the budget to Congress and they approved the appropriations every year the Repugs were in control. By the way, Republicans have been de facto in control of Congress from1995 until 2007. Plus, Congress has approved every “emergency fund request” for the Iraq war. When does a war that has been going on for 5 years stop being an “emergency,” and goes into the line items? Before you call someone names, you really should know your facts.

The McCain-Palin party will be held at Joe the Plumbers house, with Tito the Builder and Michelle Bachmann making special guest appearances. I hear that Hank Williams, Jr. will be singing “Cryin’ in Your Beer” with Joe Da Plumma providing his rapping qualities. Cindy McCain will have cookies done up with her “secret recipe” from Good Hosekeeping, while Sean Hannity will be interrogating Bill O’Reily about his horrible ratings. Rush Limbaugh will hustling pills to Elizabeth Hasselback and Paris Hilton will be schmoozing with Sonny Perdue.
Yep that will be the party of the year.
I’ll be at the Obama jam on Amsertdam Walk. I’ll be the 6’4” Black Guy (recently escaped from Pittsburgh City Jail for …er, “assault and leaving a backwards B,” doin’ the electric slide….
