There are only 97 days of summer. So little time, so much out there to do. Every day through Labor Day, the Living section will offer a daily tip —- something fun, frivolous or funky (and maybe even free) to do.
Catch a wave in Clarkston, where life will really be a beach today. The DeKalb County city is hosting its third annual Surf Fest, a day of instrumental surf music replete with reverb-heavy guitars and a sun-and-sand vibe. The event is free, but the organizers ask for donations for the musicians. Profits from food and drink sales will benefit the Clarkston Community Center. The fest takes place in the community center's field at 3701 College Ave. Gates open at noon. For more info, surf on over to www.fostersound.com/surffest.
