Georgia 7th most religious state, poll says

Georgia ranked as the seventh most religious state in the union in a Gallup poll released Wednesday.
Gallup asked more than 350,000 people 18 or older nationwide if religion was an important part of their daily lives.
Seventy-six percent of Georgians told them it was.
The states with the smallest percentage of religious people are concentrated in New England and the far West. Vermont, where only 42 percent of residents responded religion was important, was listed as No. 50.
