High-end furniture designers are out of luck if they hoped to land a piece in the White House bedrooms of Malia and Sasha Obama.

According to Us Weekly, Michelle Obama plans to use furniture from Pottery Barn to fill her daughters’ rooms. Designer Michael Smith also will use items from Anthropologie.

Obama, who already has given greater exposure to off-the-rack designs from stores such as J. Crew and the Gap, wants to keep Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, grounded.

That isn’t to say the girls won’t use some traditional furnishings. Malia plans to do homework at the desk where Abraham Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, the magazine reported.
