What you'll find
There are tubs and more tubs throughout this elegant store. The most popular versions of soaking tubs are featured and finished with soap trays, book holders, towels, stools and faucets. An array of hardware, from door knobs and drawer pulls, as well as lighting options line the walls. Bath fixtures include towel racks, mirrored medicine cabinets, shelving and mirrors. The showerhead section gives bathers a range of options, from the pulsating jets to the overhead rainshower. Sinks come in several finishes, including stainless steel, fire-glazed porcelain and hammered copper with a nickel coating.
Those designing a bath can sit down with consultants to pick every aspect of the room, including cabinetry and tile. There's even a selection of towels, robes and small items, such as Q-tip holders and soap dispensers. If it goes in the bath, it's available.
Trends
The oversized tubs surrounded by decks of tile are out, says general manager Jeff Boetig. "Most people want the romance and the look of a freestanding tub," he said.
In keeping with a move toward cleaner, crisper lines, buyers also are moving away from traditional finishes. They're now leaning toward chrome and nickel and leaving the shiny chromes behind.
Best sellers
The Empire soaking tub, priced from $8,500, is made of a tough acrylic that's less likely to chip or rust. With its rectangular shape and thick ledges, it has a distinctively antique look that harks back to the 1920s. And it's popular with renovators because its light weight makes it easy to install. Another top seller is the Candide model, a freestanding tub with gently sloping sides and feet. Prices start at $9,250.
