Don't be in a hurry if you're planning to browse at Ambiance Interiors. This home decor, gift and design store on the edge of Suwanee is chock-full of fun, funky and fashionable items for your home. Merchandise is packed into every nook of this pink Victorian cottage — including the shower and tub in the bath.

What you'll find

There's a definite tea thing going on, though owner Pamela Reeves says it's not intentional. There are teacups, teapots; lamps made from teapots, tea pot place card holders; teapot wall sconces, tea canisters, and just plain tea. There's even a tea cakes and sweets recipe book, complete with musical CD to play while you're dunking those scones in the Earl Grey.

There's an elegant silver selection of napkin holders and trays, birdhouses; framed artworks, candles; ice buckets and ceramics. Fill up a room with upholstered side chairs, fringed throw pillows, end tables; an umbrella stand and hat rack ($89.99), mirrors, a mesh and wrought iron fireplace screen ($239.99), and a five-globe iron chandelier from the Biltmore Estate collection.

Glassware comes in several shapes and sizes. Order a china plate with a monogram or the image of your house emblazoned across it. In the bath, the shower is filled with towels on racks and shelves. The tub holds a towering display of gels, creams and bath indulgences. One tucked-away shelf in a former closet is stacked with lampshades and drawer pulls shaped like butterflies and sunflowers.

One room, dubbed the "Tudor" room, shows off the traditional style her buyers prefer, said Reeves. It's outfitted with tufted leather armchairs, lamps, tables and sofas. The massive $13,000 bookcase can be disassembled for easy home delivery. Even the drapes can be custom made through the store's design center.

Tassels are big, no matter what size or length, said Reeves. Seda France candles in a range of aromas are also hot.

Trends

Right now, it's anything with a fleur de lis pattern on it, said Reeves. "They're on pillows, cushions and serving pieces and they fly out of here," she said.

Ambiance is a short drive from Suwanee's new town center off Buford Highway, where several retail shops and restaurants have opened.
