Melons, sweet potatoes may be slow getting to marketFor the Journal-Constitution
Published on: 07/10/08
A truck shortage along the Eastern seaboard may make it hard to get melons and sweet potatoes to markets. East Coast green beans and cabbage have been damaged by the drought. Local farmers markets are full of produce. Local heirloom tomatoes are at their peak, but sweet corn availability will have a gap as the Georgia harvest finishes and the Virginia harvest begins.
