Q: I would love to get the recipe for Surin of Thailand's Thai Iced Coffee. I've tried various concoctions of my own, to no avail.

-- Kathy Cline-Doten, Atlanta

A: Summer is the perfect time to enjoy this delicious chilled libation. This drink begins with a unique blend of Thai coffee and is sweetened generously with sugar and topped with half-and-half. The unusual coffee blend actually includes ground corn, soybean and sesame seeds. Chris Hedgepath, Surin's general manager, recommends finding the coffee at Hoa Binh on Buford Highway or First Oriental Market in Decatur. Thai iced coffee is also served at two other Surin restaurants: Harry & Sons, 820 N. Highland Ave., 404-873-2009; and Surin Thai Bowl, 1044 Greenwood Ave., 404-892-0552
