In plain English, it’s absolutely French

Atlantans with a penchant for all things French have found their way to Pierre Deux since the shop first opened 25 years ago on West Paces Ferry Road. It relocated for a short time to Phipps Plaza, but for the past nine years, it’s been part of the Miami Circle enclave of stores.
The local showroom is one of 20 located across the U.S. where homeowners will find a range of items that will give their Georgia residences a splash of the style and color associated with French design.

What you’ll find
Pierre Deux’s furniture selection ranges from dining tables from France to bar stools from Belgium. Armchairs, sofas, cocktail tables, desks, etageres, beds, chests, ottomans and nightstands are part of the array. Prices range from $350 to $9,000.
Accessories run the gamut of pillows, wool area rugs, place mats, napkins, bedding, lamps and vases. There are several lines of dishware and china sporting bright blue and yellow patterns.
What makes the Pierre Deux lines distinct are the fabrics and designs. All the material for upholstery, bedding, lampshades and table-top linens is imported from mills in France and produced exclusively for the company. Many of the patterns are re-creations of historical designs. The fabrics can transform an ordinary item into a decor piece with a French accent: The globes of an iron chandelier are covered by small, pale blue shades; a pillow wrapped in a bed is swathed in warm gold linens. Wool area rugs are also produced using the signature designs.
Those who want to put the Pierre Deux look on a piece they already own can select from a line of fabrics sold by the yard. Prices range from $45 to $150. There’s also a line of wallpapers. Buyers can also order custom window treatments and bedding.
Best-sellers
The store’s carved dining chairs, some with upholstered backs and seats, are among the top sellers. They go well with the in-demand dining tables, finished in a rustic, French country style.
Solid-colored dishware in shades of gold, blue and green are popular with buyers who want to mix it with the pieces they already own. Custom-framed artwork is another top seller, along with serving pieces and wine accessories in pewter.
Trends
When it first opened, the store attracted buyers with its furniture and fabrics, and that demand has continued to grow steadily through the years. Buyers’ passion for the Provençal prints in reds, blues and yellows hasn’t faded. The variety of items has increased to offer shoppers a better selection of French country colors and accents.
