Brandon Mitchell Is Back Throwing; He Also Discovered An Incredible NCAA '14 Glitch

Good news, everyone! Brandon Mitchell is back throwing the football, as you can see in Instagram video form right here: Brandon Mitchell back this week? http://t.co/dm6bX4tFPa — Pack Pride (@PackPride) October 6, 2013 And he looks fine. That doesn't mean he'll start against Syracuse, necessarily, but it's a good early ...

NC State Falls To Wake Forest, 28-13

NC State had a 4th-and-2 situation around the Wake Forest 36 yard line on its first drive of the game, and rather than going for it, or giving Nik Sade an opportunity to make a long field goal clearly within his range, Dave Doeren had Pete Thomas fake an actual ...

ACC Power Rankings - Week 6

Florida State (8/8) – Didn’t look fantastic against BC, but I am keeping them atop the standings. Clemson (3/3) – Beat down the Deacons last week. Is this a new Clemson team, or is a “clemsoning” on the horizon? Miami (14/14) – Took relative care of a pretty poor South ...

NC State Buys Its Way Out Of 2014 Road Trip To Central Michigan

Debbie Yow's long 2014 football scheduling nightmare is finally over--NC State decided to buyout the road trip it was scheduled to make to Central Michigan next season, paying the Chips $350,000 for their disappointment. NC State originally signed a two-for-one deal, and CMU made the trek to Raleigh in 2011 ...

NC State Injury Report: Rob Crisp, Darryl Cato-Bishop Out

It's time for this week's EXTREME EXTREMITY UPDATE [explosions]. I really need a logo for that to fully capture the breathless excitement of these occasions. Actually no extremities are even listed on the injury report this week, leaving us even more free to use our imaginations. NC State will be ...

Omega Expresses Unusual Level of Confidence: We Gon' Win

When writing a prediction story for an opponent N.C. State is favored to beat--and the Pack is an eight to 10-point favorite Saturday, depending on the source--the culmination of decades of painful memories conspires, inevitably causing me to rationalize a path to doom. If A happens, followed by B, and ...

Cat Barber Suffers Concussion In Practice

Cat Barber's brief NC State career is off to a bit of a rough start--first there was the foot injury he suffered, and on Wednesday he suffered a concussion in a collision with TJ Warren during practice. He is officially day-to-day, per NC State's release: Barber, a McDonald's All-American last ...

Campanaro Comin'

Not good, man. This is not good at all. @lebrownlow 🙌🙌🙌 — Michael Campanaro (@MikeCamp_3) October 2, 2013 I think he just called his shot via emojis. (There's a sentence you don't see every day.) In full accordance with the rule of NC State in Winston-Salem, he will probably throw ...

Scott Wood Announces Future Presidential Run

America does not even have a running government at this moment (or most moments, honestly #govtjokes), and the most likely reason for this is the fact that Scott Wood is not president. He can't be president for a while yet, but rest assured he is already planning his run, and ...

Pack in the Pros: Week Four

Here are the Pack alum's performances from week four of the NFL season. Players are listed in alphabetical order as not to offend anyone; please hold your applause until the end of the presentation. David Amerson (‘13/2nd): The hapless Oakland Raiders are good for what ails you, and on Sunday ...

Red Light Returns: Tyler Jones Flips From Mississippi State To NC State

Three-star offensive lineman Tyler Jones had been committed to his "second option," Mississippi State, but he had the opportunity to go with his top choice on Monday, and that's what he did, flipping his verbal from MSU to NC State. Now, all of that probably made absolutely no sense to ...

Is the ACC For Real in Football?

Over the years the Atlantic Coast Conference has blown up its original Tobacco Road-dominated footprint, expanding in an effort to gain gridiron respectability (and the almighty dollar). Despite the league's pursuit of football relevance, it has remained a basketball conference. Florida State is the last ACC team to claim a ...

Brandon Mitchell Off Crutches, Still Theoretically On Track For Oct. 12 Return

Dave Doeren had an update on Brandon Mitchell Monday, and the news is encouraging, though he has not yet been cleared to practice. Doeren on Brandon Mithcell: "His last X-ray showed a lot of healing...he's off the crutches." — Derek Medlin (@DerekMedlin) September 30, 2013 Doeren says there is "hope ...

Central Michigan Vs. NC State Highlights: Finally, Another Home Run For Bryan Underwood

It took a month, but Bryan Underwood finally (officially) scored a touchdown.

Rashard Smith Gladly Takes You To The House

Rashard Smith is pretty good on punt returns when he isn't being tackled by the facemask. He helped totally erase any hope Central Michigan had of a comeback, upset victory on Saturday with this score.

Primary Ball Touchers Sweep Pack Past Chippewas

Bryan Underwood caught five balls for a career-high 148 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown, and Rashard Smith returned a punt 67 yards for a score as N.C. State's primary ball touchers (as dubbed by ESPN commentator Al Groh) led the Pack to a decisive 48-14 victory over the struggling Central ...

Mark Gottfried Denies Tampering Allegations

As we noted earlier this afternoon, NC State is reportedly under NCAA investigation for allegedly making illegal contact with guard Devonte Graham, who signed a letter of intent with Appalachian State last fall. Graham would like out of his LOI after seeing his stock rise in the meantime, but App's ...

Gottfried Guilty of Tampering with Signed Recruit Devonte Graham?

ESPN reporter Jeff Goodman has taken to the twitter to insinuate that Mark Gottfried may have drawn the NCAA's attention by talking with Devonte Graham, the point guard recruit who is currently being held hostage by Appalachian State. Graham, who is prepping at Brewster Academy, figuratively blew up this summer. Now ...

Central Michigan at N.C. State: Prediction Time

Central Michigan is 0-4 against the spread this season. When that's the case, it likely means one of two things: a team is overachieving, or it's not. In the case of the 1-3 Chippewas, it's definitely the latter. CMU is getting beaten by larger margins than Vegas expected, and, when ...

Dogs have resolve but they’re running out of bodies

If nothing else, Georgia has ensured at least one thing about its season. Regardless of where the rest of the schedule takes them, whether its to an SEC championship, a BCS bowl bid or a national title, there will be no claims from outsiders that this team received too many breaks and escaped health issues, no suggestions that the road to success was lined with lollipops and unicorns.
