A Sandy Spring man convicted in less than an hour by jurors for attempting to murder his wife was sentenced Friday to the maximum 35 years in prison.

Michael Parson, appearing in shackles, chose not to speak prior to sentencing. His mother, Margaret Parson, speaking on his behalf, said, “He’s not that monster that he’s been painted to be.”
