Failing to get enough exercise isn't good for people of any age, but it's particularly harmful for seniors. Regular activity can prevent many health problems and help seniors remain independent for longer, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Older adults should get about 150 minutes of exercise a week, and this can be easier if you're with other people of the same age, taking a class that's designed for your age group.
