Occupation: Nurse manager for the inpatient oncology unit, DeKalb Medical main campus, Decatur.

What I’m wearing: “A white cocktail dress and belt by BCBG from Bloomingdale’s. My shoes are Enzo Angiolini from Nordstrom. Sterling silver necklace from Banana Republic and a Charles Albert lavender agate geode sterling silver ring from Cure Nail & Body Bar.”

Signature style: “Simple, streamlined and chic. I like classic pieces in neutral tones of gray, camel or black that you can transform, depending on what you’re doing and where you are going.

“I wear classic dresses, pants or pencil skirts to work under my lab coat. You can take a basic black dress and dress it up or down. You can wear it with a belt or flats for work, then jazz it up with a higher heel, dressier jewelry and a clutch, and you’re in business for evening. With a classic piece, you can always put together a different look.”

Best find: “I have several favorite necklaces, including a turquoise one that a patient gave me. I love costume jewelry, especially necklaces and bangles, dainty, chunky — you name it. I have long fingers so I can wear the big costume rings that are fashionable now. If I go in Macy’s, I’m heading to the jewelry counter first, and then the shoes are just across the way.”

Fashion weakness: “Accessories. I have a closet full of shoes, jewelry and purses. I like good quality, and [I] got that from my mother. ‘You should always wear nice shoes and a carry a nice purse,’ she’d say.

“When it comes to purses, I go for one-of-a-kind looks, and I love clutch bags for evening.”

Favorite stores: “Nordstrom, Banana Republic, T.J. Maxx and Loehmann’s. I’m a fashionista, but on my budget I only buy if it’s on sale.”

Favorite labels: “Michael Kors, Calvin Klein [for dresses and skirts], Tory Burch, Via Spiga [for shoes], David Yurman [for jewelry] and Gucci. I keep abreast of the styles by reading InStyle and Glamour.”

Pet peeve: “Clothes that don’t fit. Looking good makes you feel good. I can’t feel confident if I’m constantly tugging or pulling at my clothes.

“I don’t find it attractive to see someone’s stomach sticking out over low-rise jeans; it looks awful. And legs with a lot of cellulite don’t belong in today’s short-shorts and micro skirts.”

Best fashion compliment: “I like it when people tell me that I look classy and that I put things together well.”
