Sept. 7-10

“Current Concepts in Skin Care and Wound Management” will be at Emory University’s Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Education Center (1365 Clifton Road, Atlanta). The cost of the course is $1,000. A total of 24.5 contact hours are available. The course also will be offered Dec. 6-9. Sept. 27-28

A “Medical-Surgical Nursing Review for Practice Enhancement and Certification” course will be at Piedmont Hospital (1968 Peachtree Road in Atlanta). The event will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Richard H. Rich Auditorium on “M” level of the 77 Building. The two-day course is for nurses preparing to take a certification exam as well as those interested in improving their general knowledge. The cost, which is $225 before Sept. 13 and $275 afterward, includes course materials, light breakfast, light lunch and Georgia Nurses Association contact hours. Oct. 8-9

“Navigating Health Care: It takes a Team,” the annual educational conference of the Atlanta chapter of the Case Management Society of America, will be at the Georgia International Convention Center (2000 Convention Center Concourse in College Park). The conference hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 8, and 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 9. The keynote speaker will be Connie Commander, RN, BS, CCM, ABDA, CPUR. The cost of the two-day event is $115 if postmarked by Aug. 18, and $150 for members (nonmembers, $200) afterward. Single-day rates for members are $60 (nonmembers, $80) for the first day and $90 (nonmembers, $120) for the second. Group rates (five or more attendees registering with one check) are $115 for both days and $85 for the second day only. The cost for same-day registration is $100 for the first day, $150 for the second or $250 for both days. Ten continuing education credits will be applied for through the Commission for Case Management Certification and the Georgia chapter of the National Social Workers Association.
