| Vivisimo | Vivismo is a metasearch, it runs your search through lots of other search engines. It clusters similar results in folders so you can focus on what you're really interested in. |
| AlltheWeb | Fast and claims to have as many or more links than Google. |
| Google Groups | Unlike other search engines, this searches the full text of subject oriented discussion lists. The results are very different and can be very good or very bad. |
| Hobbes' Internet Timeline | A brief history of Internet time. |
| PC Webopaedia | Excellent definitions for the Internet and computing. |
