> An article in Thursday’s national news section incorrectly represented the circumstances surrounding the departure of the Wasilla, Alaska, town librarian when Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was Wasilla’s mayor. Palin twice asked for and received letters of resignation from the librarian. Both times, she rehired the librarian, who later resigned on her own.

> Water use in the city of Atlanta and south Fulton County was down more than 20 percent last month compared with August 2007. A brief on a Community News page of Thursday’s Metro section included an incorrect percentage and an incomplete geographic area.

> A story in Wednesday’s Metro section about the U.S. Department of Education’s announcement of Blue Ribbon Schools should have said that there are 100,000 k-12 schools in the United States. The story had an incorrect figure.

> The Cobb County Commission, not the school board, voted Tuesday to alter its pension plan. A headline in Wednesday’s Metro section was incorrect.
