CELEBRATING NURSES OF EXCELLENCE
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and ajcjobs are proud to honor nurses who went above and beyond the call of duty in 2007.
We received 305 nominations for the third annual ajcjobs Nursing Excellence Awards. Our judges Linda Easterly, Carol Rittenhouse, Richard Sowell & Myra Carmon found it a challenge to narrow the skilled and dedicated nominees to 10 finalists. Click here to see the full list of nominees.
This year's Keynote Speaker was Dr. Randy Martin and the Mistress of Ceremonies was Jovita Moore from Channel 2 Action News.
Look for the special Celebrating Nurses section with highlights from the event in the Sunday, May 11 edition of the newspaper, and online.
From the top 10 finalists, three top honorees were announced at the awards banquet held on Wednesday May 7, 2008 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. We would like to congratulate the three top honorees: Ann Connor, Mary Anne Newkirk and Doretta Thomas-Fleet. All of the nurses and the people who nominated them had great stories to tell.
