Oct. 23-24

“Raising the Bar: Evidence-Based Programs for Caregivers,” will be at the Rosalynn Carter Institute of Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. The conference, which will be presented by the Rosalynn Carter Institute and the National Implementation Research Network, will focus on key issues facing caregiver-support agencies and strategies to assure success in adopting new programs. Oct. 23-25

A cleft lip and palate symposium, sponsored by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, will be at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia (4355 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Atlanta). Participants will hear from surgeons, dentists, orthodontists, speech language pathologists and other clinicians about the treatment of cleft lip and palate. The cost is $350. Nov. 1

A pediatric orthopaedic/sports medicine seminar, sponsored by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North (7 Concourse Parkway). This seminar is designed for primary care providers who evaluate and treat children with orthopedic conditions for sports injuries. The cost is $135. “Advances in Stroke Care 2008: Maximizing Return to Function,” will be presented by Gwinnett Medical Center from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The annual stroke conference will be at the GHS Resource Center (665 Duluth Highway in Lawrenceville). The event is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and other health care professionals. The cost is $75. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Continuing education credits and contact hours will be available.
