Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University students Olivia Kemp, of Fairburn, and Stephanie Hodgson, of Duluth, have received the Judy Wilson Memorial Scholarship from the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia.
Although designed for one student, "Both students were so exceptional, we made a decision to extend the scholarship to both of them," said Tracy Jenny, director of patient services for the National Kidney Foundation.
To qualify, the students had to be enrolled in a nursing degree program and participate as volunteers in Camp Independence, a summer camp for children and adolescents with kidney disease or kidney, heart, liver and lung transplants.
