Georgia's Emergency Medical Services community honored Puckett EMS as Emergency Medical Service of the Year during a ceremony in Macon in May.
Criteria for the award included outstanding patient care, community involvement, customer service and innovations in the delivery of emergency medical service to the community.
Puckett EMS is one of 30 EMS providers from across the state that had been nominated for the award.
Puckett EMS is the 911 zoned ambulance provider for southwest Cobb County, which includes Powder Springs and Austell.
Along with providing emergency service, Puckett EMS performs interfacility transports, has established a critical-care transport program and participates in community outreach services.
Puckett EMS will be considered for the 2004 National Emergency Medical Service provider award, which will be given in October at the National EMS Conference held in Atlanta.
