Approximately 300 people attended ajcjobs’ diversity event, on September
29th, that commemorated the publishing of the 2nd issue of the Celebrating
Diversity magazine.
The event, Celebrating Diversity in the Workplace - Inclusion is Good for
Business, was held at the Atlanta History Center. Reed Kimbrough, AJC’s
Director of Diversity Programs and Community Relations, moderated the event.
The
event featured two panels, one comprised of local diversity organizations
and another of local business leaders. The panelists discussed timely subjects
like best diversity practices to promote inclusion with success as well
as invaluable insight in dealing with specific communities. Some of the
ajcjobs partner panelist included the Atlanta Business League, Latin American
Association and the American Institute of Managing Diversity, among others.
Top executives from leading Atlanta diversity businesses like Para/Quad
Services, American Express Financial Advisors and Hewitt Associates were
a few of the companies that comprised the ajcjobs’ business panel.
The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Dr. R. Roosevelt
Thomas, Jr., who has been at the forefront of developing and implementing
innovative diversity concepts and strategies for over the past 20 years.
