MY FAVORITE PIECE
Fiance's artwork is pricelessSuzanne Shaw, Grant Park
Background: Shaw is the founder of Penn House Productions, an events marketing company that organizes events for, among others, Jane Fonda's Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention. Formerly a student of classical ballet, Shaw has always been interested in the arts and collects paintings and photographs by contemporary artists, which are displayed throughout her historic home. A few years ago at a friend's housewarming party, she met an artist she was particularly interested in: Atlanta College of Art grad Daniel Biddy. About a year ago, the two became engaged.

Favorite piece: Something by her fiancé, naturally. It's called "Jet Stream," completed this year. The mixed media collage is 48 inches tall and 180 inches wide, and it was in progress for about seven months, Shaw says. It's not for sale. "Although, my last favorite piece wasn't for sale either, but then we got a great offer for it," Shaw added. That piece, a giant truck titled "Broad Highway," sold for $6,000 at a Vaknin Gallery show.
Why she likes it: "I've really enjoyed watching it develop and see how the images relate to other images. There are hundreds of images. It's very intricate," Shaw said. "I also really like the color scheme. It reminds me of peonies. It seems strong and feminine to me."
