Condo of the Week: Cyrus Creek
Location a blessing for busy mom
For the AJC
Thursday, February 12, 2009
Just out looking around one day, Amber Bostler saw the townhomes at Cyrus Creek being built. She was very informally shopping for a new home in the Kennesaw area, something that would be near day care for her son Michael and in a great location for shopping and access to services. She drove in to check out the community, took a tour and decided to sign a contract.
The right spot: Bostler, 33, works for Dick’s Sporting Goods. Kennesaw was just right for her family, with plenty of grocery stores, Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Gold’s Gym all within easy drive. “Any place I need to be is within 5 minutes of me,” said Bostler. She moved in last July.

Cyrus Creek homes include high-end finishes such as granite countertops and hardwood floors in the kitchen and foyer.
Getting there
Take I-75 north to Exit 269 (Barrett Parkway). Turn left and go approximately 1 mile. Turn right onto U.S. 41. Cyrus Creek is approximately 5 miles away, just past the intersection with Loring Road. Pass the property and make a U-turn; the community will be on your right.
A first home: This is Bostler’s first home, and she had been thinking that a townhome would be the right fit. She’s constantly on the go, so the yardwork associated with a single-family home would have been difficult. “I looked at other places, some that were more expensive, and I don’t think they had all the features that I found at Cyrus Creek,” said Bostler.
Special touches: Bostler was able to purchase one of the model homes, so she got a lot of upgrades. Granite countertops and cherry cabinets in the kitchen and hardwood floors in the kitchen and foyer were just a few of the high-end finishes that came with her home. Her attic even has partial flooring and pull-down stairs so she has extra storage close at hand.
A quiet area: Bostler says that even though the townhomes are right on U.S. 41, she rarely notices the road at all.
“The building is so well insulated that I don’t hear the road, and I don’t hear my neighbors. It’s just very quiet here,” she said.
At a glance
The three bedrooms in Amber Bostler’s townhome are all upstairs, along with two full baths and a laundry area off the upstairs hallway. The ground level features a one-car garage, and a large open space that is the living room, dining room and kitchen. A breakfast bar separates the kitchen from the dining room, and this area opens up to a concrete patio with a storage closet.
