Rob and Malyssa Munroe sought a home with space and a strong school system for 1-year-old Kayla. Rob, 33, who works in Johns Creek for Credigy Solutions, and Malyssa, 38, who works from home part time, chatted about their five-bedroom, three-bath home with a basement in Cumming's Blackstock Mill.
Q: Why were you looking for a home?

| Daughter Kayla's future needs for a good school and a safe place to play featured prominently in Rob and Malyssa Munroe's search for a home. They found what they wanted at Blackstock Mill in Cumming. |
Rob: We lived in Colorado a few years and just got back.
Q: What were important factors in the search?
Malyssa: Now that we have a daughter, the school system was important. We wanted to be near our family. We wanted to find a house that had the stuff on our must-have wish list — a community we liked, a commute that wasn't going to be horrendous, an area that offered creature comforts.
Q: What else was on the list that Blackstock Mill offered?
Malyssa: Space. We were looking for nice cul-de-sac lot so we knew there would be someplace she could play. We wanted a basement. We wanted a big spacious master bedroom and a really nice, comfortable-size family room. We both like to cook, so a big kitchen was a must.
Q: What do you like about the location?
Rob: Our families are basically around us. Some live in Suwanee. Some live down farther in Alpharetta; some live in Cherokee County. All the shops around the area, as well, attracted [us].
Malyssa: Right off Ga. 400, I can hit Bed Bath & Beyond and SuperTarget and Wal-Mart Supercenter. Now we've got TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Ulta, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse.
Q: What's your favorite spot at home?
Malyssa: Our back deck — we get a beautiful view of the sunset.
