The Harbens' own a Citation jet, which they use for business and pleasure. Heaven's Landing makes it easy, with a 5,069-foot paved concrete, lighted runway.

GETTING THERE
From downtown Atlanta, take I-85 north to I-985 north. Stay on I-985 as it turns into U.S. 411 and comes into Clayton. In Clayton, make a left on U.S. 76 West. Travel about 2 miles. Turn right on Germany Road and travel 3.1 miles. After crossing a small bridge, bear to the left on Devils Branch Road. Travel 400 yards, and Heaven's Landing will be on the right.

When purchased: The couple has owned their lot for five years, but finished their house earlier this year.

Their home: It's a two-story mountain home with an outdoor kitchen, 50-by-50-foot patio and porch off the master bedroom that offers a prime spot to view the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Why there: "We really love to fly, and we wanted to be around other flying people, but we also loved the mountains. We wanted something on an airport," said Harben, who owns a Citation jet. "There's really not another airport within 25 miles. We had hoped maybe at some point to have our own small airstrip, but ... [this] was just an excellent opportunity for us."

Where they fly to: Everywhere from Walt Disney World for pleasure to Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi for business.

How far from home: About 65 miles from their primary residence on Lake Lanier.

What they do when they're there: Entertain and play with their 10 grandchildren.

What they love about it: The views, plus its proximity to Clayton and well-known eateries such as the Dillard House. "Other places we've had in the mountains are so remote that if you want to go in town and have supper, it's very difficult to do. You had a 20-mile drive. We have about a five-mile drive to the center of town," he said.

COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

The 635-acre Heaven's Landing is about 100 miles from Atlanta and 3 miles northwest of Clayton. The gated community's key amenity is a 5,069-foot paved concrete, lighted runway, which sits at an elevation of 2,600 feet.

When complete, the airpark community will have 300 homes, with plans for 100 condos. About 120 lots have sold, with 95 percent of those bought by plane owners, said developer Michael Ciochetti, a former NASCAR driver.

Homesites, which average 1.5 acres, range from $130,000-$300,000. Homes range from $575,000-$3 million. Hangar space ranges from $175,000-$250,000.

A three-story clubhouse will have a private lounge, dining room, fitness center, pool, Jacuzzi, and racquetball and tennis courts.

Recreation areas abound. More than 60 percent of Rabun County's acreage is owned by the U.S. Forest Service, and 20 percent is composed of bodies of water, including Lake Burton, Lake Rabun and Lake Seed.
