How much partying does 2008 rate?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
With just about two weeks before Christmas, you might be thinking what I’m thinking:
What are we doing on New Year’s Eve?

We received an invite to a fab fete for New Year’s and were overjoyed to accept. Then came the invite for the pre-party dinner party. Sounds good! Then came the invite for the pre-pre-party.
Mercy!
How much partying are you planning to ring in the New Year? Does it get to be too much? Anyone staying in?
Tell me your plans for parties large, small and in between. Or maybe your most memorable New Year’s Eve.
Oh, and if anyone’s planning a party that starts about 1 p.m. New Year’s Eve, S.B.’s available. Otherwise, I’m booked - see you next year!

Maybe if all these events in ATL didn’t cost so much some of us recent college grads with our entry-level jobs could actually party for the New Year. As it is, I will be spending it at home with a bottle of wine and a good book.

Well Erin, I am sorry that your entry level job is having a hard time paying the bills. Seems to me like you should live a little fun and put down the book and spend some money and get hammered this new years. You know you want to go to Jezolution and get blackout and wake up beside some random dude who probably doesnt even and wake up beside some random dude who probably doesnt remember your name or even where he is.

Forget the wine and get into that hard stuff.

Come clean, Erin. The reason you’ll be spending NYE at home with a bottle of wine & a good book has nothing to do with the expense of events or your budget. It has EVERYTHING to do with your prospects and overall (non-existant) social life.

I will likely spend it much like Ermma Bombeck wrote about it…but minus the husband snoring as the ball in NYC drops and no dog either.
