How many dinners will you eat?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother’s house we go.
Then it’s back into the minivan, and hit the road again to grandfather and his second wife, and her children, for another big dinner.
Or maybe you’re a young married couple, and you have one Thanksgiving with the wife’s family and one Thanksgiving with the husband’s.
Does this sound like your Thanksgiving? Do blended families or modern living arrangements have you eating two Thanksgiving dinners? How about more than two?

It was like that somewhat in my past….when I was married we alternated holidays (supposedly)…these days they are all wherever my parents are….my brother will not be at the table—in fact he will not be around until Sunday. My parents operate on the we will be here, we will be eating at, and then if/when you show up thats great.
For Christmas we do the balancing act much more so than now. However there is something to be said for a large table/house full to the brim of people you love.
BTW what I ended up doing in the past was eating with b/f family at about 11:30. Hitting my parents for dessert only around 3:30-4:00, then gathering out in one of the open eateries with friends for snacks/cocktails around 8:30-9:00…everyone came away happy

I had my first Thanksgiving this weekend. My Mother’s family has done Thanksgiving on Saturday for as long as I can remember. It is more like a family reunion. Everyone brings something - we have turkey, chicken, ham and tons of sides. All the cousins, aunts, uncles and the like.
It is a great tradition.
No one has to rush off to another meal.
I will have Thanksgiving on Thursday at my In-laws. So will everyone else that was there Saturday. ;)

IF I get dressed Thursday, I will eat out. Otherwise, I am staying home and will grill a steak—while in my PJs.
