Brooks’ rally upends Lovett

Second-ranked Brooks County (12-1) scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to pull out the win over Lovett (9-4).

Arlester McKinnon led Brooks County with 135 yards rushing on five carries, including touchdown runs of 67 and 5 yards.

• Calhoun 41, Toombs County 14: The Yellow Jackets (11-2) rolled to a 20-7 halftime lead and coasted. Michael Johnson led the way, completing 15 of 25 passes for 306 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown pass to Cody Ralston.

• Fitzgerald 41, Pepperell 19: Jimea Thomas returned a kickoff 80 yards for one touchdown and an interception 65 yards for another as Fitzgerald (11-2) advanced. Juwan Alexander added another score on a 69-yard run. Pepperell finished 11-2.
